Established in 1991, Sugshe Trading Canada Ltd., manages the franchise operations of Metro Paradise – a chain of four retail stores located throughout Toronto’s busy mid-town and downtown core. Occupying approximately 18,000 square feet of retail space the four stores carries a wide range of consumer products ranging from souvenirs for tourists, clothing, general merchandise and sundry confectionary items. A staff of 20 employees manage and operates the thriving retail store network that caters to the diverse multi-ethnic community in Toronto.
Sugshe Financial Canada Inc. was established in 1998 to cater to the financial needs of budding entrepreneurs who seek funds to start-up their business ventures in Ontario. Businessmen who come under the Small & Medium Business category often get turned down for financial help by the larger financial institutions. Sugshe Financial Canada Inc. steps in to assist this group of entrepreneurs and has successfully entered a niche market by providing financial assistance to young immigrants who have bright ideas to start small businesses. To date, 68 entrepreneurs have enjoyed business success through Sugshe Financial Canada Inc., in varying fields such as Software Development, Web Development, Information Technology, Import & Export operations. The downstream effect is that these small businesses in turn provide employment to over 400 employees. It is therefore a win-win situation and helps build Canada’s economy in no small measure.
Sugshe Development Inc. is still in its initial stages of operations. The primary focus of this subsidiary would be investment in the Real Estate Sector and Property Development. Plans are in place to staff this operation with a team of highly skilled professionals to enhance its position as an industry leader in the future.

It provides small scale loans of $500 to $5000 to small businesses to meet expenses connected with utilities, services, purchase of electronic goods, stationary, etc. The financial aid helps individuals and operators of small business to meet their day to day financial commitments giving them worry-free time to focus on their personal lives.

Mr. Ganesan Sugumar – a Canadian businessman of Sri Lankan origin – is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Sugshe Group of Companies. An astute business leader, Mr. Sugumar leads with example and applies strong human values and business ethics to ensure that the company governance model conforms to required standards of all three levels of government – federal, provincial and municipal. He has a proven track record as a charismatic business leader who shares his success with the community and his employees. Mr. Sugumar is actively involved in numerous charitable and philanthropic organizations of national stature in addition to many that supports the local community. He is a Life Member and Vice President, Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council which promotes bilateral trade, investment, tourism, technology transfer and industrial cooperation between Canada and Sri Lanka. Mr. Sugumar is also the President of the Federal Liberal Association of Beaches – East York which is affiliated with the Liberal Party of Canada. Mr. Sugumar is also the Vice-President of Finance and Government Affairs with the United Tamil Council of Canada, a not-for-profit community organization which caters to the betterment and growth of the Tamil community in Canada.
